Generals Die In Bed is a book about the horrors and disgusting accounts of the trench warfare during world war 1. The story starts out about the recruiting and then begins to describe the horrors of the artillery “duels”. Right near the beginning, of the story the main character finds a boot in the mud and pulls it out to find a severed foot. Cool eh? The main character also fights in the trenches and during a raid on a German base, he runs into a german in the trenches and kills him with his bayonnet, but the bayonnet gets stuck in his ribs, he ends up breaking off the bayonnet just as the brother of the man he killed runs in. He takes the man named Karl’s brother and another man prisoner back to the Canadian camp. The main character recieves a Military Medal and a 10 day’s leave for the 2 prisoners. He chooses to spen his leave in London.
