Julius Caesar !

January 26, 2008
Although i didnt give this book much of a chance at the beginning of our reading sessions, it really did inspire me come the end! As i began to understand Shakespeares great use of grammar and punctuation i also began to catch the humour, action, and realize just how good the book really was! The complex preparation and disloyalty contributing to Caesars death really gave this book that spin i was looking for!Although the main theme of the book was honour, some of the characters displayed no honour whatsoever, including Cassius who manipulated Brutus into killing Caesar for his own personal benefit. This really disgusted me, as his selfishness interfered with what could have made him a kind, honourable man! Brutus, however did what he thought was best for Rome, and even though he made a giant mistake, his caring and thoughtfulness behind the decision cannot go unnoticed. This is why i believe Brutus to be somewhat of a hero in the play.

Finally, Mark Antony was the hero in this play, with his careful choice of words at the funeral, combined with his honesty, loyalty and humbleness he truly was an honourable character! We can’t forget that he was the one who ultimately stuck up for his friend Caesar, and driving the evil Cassius and conspirators away from Rome for good!

Way to go Antony, and way to go Shakespeare on writing yet another fantastic, dramtic play! It was a fun, enjoyable semester!

Julius Caesar

January 21, 2008

It was a really cool book to finish off this semester with. I was not expecting that everyone would kill themselves but it did make the book more interesting. I enjoyed how the battle was between the conspirators against Mark Antony. Brutus and Mark Antony were once friends but now enimies which is really strange but cool at the same time. I wish I lived in roman times were i would be able to fight in the that battle. I am a bit angry that Caesar is dead because I was just starting to like him. I wonder what the story would have been like if Caesar was still alive? would there still be a battle against the conspirators and Mark Antony or would everyone still bve friends?

What do you think?

Julius Cesaer!

January 11, 2008

We just finished the another play by shakespare and it didnl’t end the way i thought it would! with all the people killing themselves was really something unexpected. Even though that ending wasn’t what i was thinking, i really enjoyed the play! It took me a few scenes to get into the type of grammer they used but after a while i got it.

It was really good writing and it had the little bits of humor in it that i like it a book! Shakespare really did write some good stuff! did everyone else like the play as well?

I didn’t understand a few things but i got the just of the book! My favourite part was the funeral speech by Antony. I had to do that for a monalog in grade 8 so i knew all the little jokes in it and stuff !

Overall i like that book and enjoyed the humor in it.

Reading in class!

December 12, 2007

Write now we have just started to read Julius Caesar in class. for just reading the first few acts, i’m really getting interested by it and i thinmk i am really going to like the rest of the play. sometimes its hard to understand what is going on becasue of the way it is written but i feel that in time as we read the book more i will be able to understand better.

In the play, you can really see that most of the characters don’t really like Caesar as much as he probley thinks! There is lots of forshadowing in the beginning of the book too which i like becasue then it helps me to get into the book becasuse it makes me think about whats going to happen next.

so thats whats going on in the reading in our class
