DEFECTIVE
How can a book be defective? I’m going to have a long rant about how it can’t be defective because I have nothing else to talk about.
Last year, I bought a book from th public library book sale. It’s a compilation of short stories by a guy named Arture C. Clarke. There is a bit, orange and black sticker splayed across the front displaying the word: DEFECTIVE. To me, if something is defective, there is a factory error or “defect” which disables the object from fulfilling its intended purpose. Such as a short circuit in an electronic. Or an irregular gear size in something clockwork.
So far, the only errors that I have found are a few typos, such as double letters (ie: thhe) or altogether missing letters (ie: tmost.) Had it not been for that humorous (to me) sticker on the front, the book may not have attracted my attention in that pile of hundreds of books. Had it not been for that sticker, I would never have known of such outrageous science fiction stories. With almost crazy ideas, for some reason this author was not famous. I guess that that style of writing just didn’t stick. I know that it isn’t because the book was written a while ago, in the min 1990’s, for there are many older authors that are very famous now, such as: Jules Verne, Mark Twain, and the ever famous J.R.R.Tolkein.
This is the first blog to come in a series of many, I think that my blogs will be like the short stories of Arthur C. Clarke, not many will read them, and fewer will actually enjoy them.
